A perfect moonstone is devoid of any kind of inclusion bodies and is clear as water. 3- Body color and shape:

A green sheen was considered to be less attractive earlier but a lot of people now prefer to buy the green moonstone as well. Talking about the shape, cutters generally prefer shaping a moonstone into a cabochon to enhance its beauty. Sometimes, moonstones display a special ray like structure in them known as cat’s eye. A cabochon cut helps beautify a cat’s eye more than any other cut or shape. Preferably, a cabochon shouldn’t be much flat. It should be slightly elevated to display the color and light play of the gem stone in its full glory.
